Car Rental in Agadir

Booking takes a few minutes. Choose your dates and pick-up point, pick a car, and enter the driver’s details. You get a confirmation with your reference straight away, and our Agadir team contacts you to confirm the hand-over time.

On the day, we meet you with the car at Agadir Al Massira Airport, at your hotel or riad, or at our pick-up point in town. We check the car together, you sign the rental agreement, and you leave. Returning the car works the same way in reverse.

Agadir Al Massira Airport is about 25 km south-east of the city centre, roughly 30 minutes by road. Most visitors collect their car there, because a taxi to the hotel zone and back already costs a good part of a day’s rental.

Give us your flight number when you book. We follow the arrival time and wait for you in the arrivals hall, so a delayed flight does not leave you without a car. Late evening and early morning arrivals are fine.

If you would rather settle in first, we can bring the car to your hotel in Agadir the next morning instead.

For Agadir itself, the seafront and day trips on main roads, an economy car such as a Dacia Sandero or Logan is all you need. They are the cheapest to rent and to fuel, and easy to park near the beach and the souk.

If you are heading into the Anti-Atlas, to Paradise Valley or along the coast road with luggage and boards, a compact SUV gives you more room and ground clearance. Families and groups with a lot of luggage should look at the larger models.

Automatic cars are available, but there are fewer of them than manuals. If you need an automatic, book early, especially for July, August and the winter holiday weeks.

The main driver needs a valid driving licence held for at least one year, and a passport or national identity card. Licences from most countries are accepted in Morocco for a tourist stay; if yours is not in Latin script, bring an international driving permit with it.

At pick-up, a refundable security deposit is taken by card pre-authorisation or in cash. The amount for your car, from MAD 3,000, is shown before you book and returned after the car is inspected at return.

Third-party insurance is included in every rental, as Moroccan law requires. Extra cover options are shown when you book, with their price, so you can decide before you arrive rather than at the counter.

Fuel is not included: what you use during the rental is at your expense. Petrol stations are frequent around Agadir and along the main roads.

We deliver across the Agadir bay: the hotel zone and seafront, Founty, Talborjt, the Marina, and the residential districts. North of the city we also deliver to Aourir, Tamraght and Taghazout, where many surf camps and guesthouses are.

Any delivery fee depends on the distance and is shown in your price before you confirm. Collection from the airport or from town at the end of your rental can be arranged at the same time.

Agadir is one of the easiest Moroccan cities to drive in. It was rebuilt on a modern grid after 1960, so avenues are wide, signs are in Arabic and French, and parking is manageable outside the busiest summer evenings.

Speed limits are 60 km/h in town, 100 km/h on main roads and 120 km/h on motorways, and they are enforced with radar. Seat belts are compulsory and using a phone at the wheel is fined. Roundabouts are common; traffic already on the roundabout has priority unless signs say otherwise.

Outside the city, watch for pedestrians, bicycles and animals on the roadside, and avoid driving on rural roads after dark when you can.
